2012 SCAHL Playoff Schedule
Round 1: February 22-26 (Pee Wee & Bantam); February 28-March 4 (Midget)
The top 6 teams in each of the North and South Conferences shall qualify for the 2012 SCAHL Playoffs. The first and second place teams in each conference will receive a bye during the best of 3 First Round Playoffs. (3 vs 8; 4 vs 7).
Round 2: February 29-March 4 (Pee Wee and Bantam); March 7-11 (Midget)
The first place team will play the lowest team remaining in their conference after round 1, and the second place team will play the next lowest team remaining in the best of 3 Second Round Playoffs.
Round 3: Conference Championships - March 7-14 (Pee Wee and Bantam); March 13-18 (Midget)
The remaining 2 teams in each Conference will play for the North and South Conference Championships in a best of 3 series, with the winner advancing to the League Championship Final.
Round 4: SCAHL League Championship Final - March 14-April 1 (Pee Wee and Bantam); March 20-April 1 (Midget)
South Conference Champion vs North Conference Champion in a best of 5 series.
In all playoff series', the team with the most regular season points shall host games 1 and 3 in a best of 3 series, and games 1, 2, and 5 in a best of 5 series.

SCAHL Regular Season Stretch Drive
For the SCAHL Pee Wee AA and Bantam AA teams, the drive for the play offs enters the final 4 weeks of regular season play. For Midget AA there are 5 weeks to go.
In each Division, North and South Conferences see 6 teams qualify for play off participation. Teams finishing in 1st and 2nd place receive a bye in round 1, with team #3 hosting team #6, and team #4 hosting team #5. The first round, and all subsequent rounds of play offs are best of 3 series', excepting the League Championship series which is a best of 5 game series.
Winners of round 1 will then move to round 2 versus the conferences 1st and 2nd place teams, and the play offs continue until there is a North Conference and a South Conference champion, and these teams then will face off in the League Championship.

SCAHL All Stars Shine
The SCAHL All Stars took to the ice Sunday, January 15 in Red Deer. Teams from the North and South Conferences of each of the Pee AA, Bantam AA and Midget AA Divisions faced off, showcasing some of the premier talent in these age groups in AA hockey.
The North squad took the Pee Wee AA game 5-3 over the South Conference, while in Bantam AA the North held off the South 4-3. The Midget AA South exploded to take the game with their North counterparts 8-4.
Saturday night's All Star Banquet was attended by over 450 players, staff and family.
The SCAHL would like to thank Red Deer Minor Hockey for hosting this 13th annual All Star weekend for the 3rd time, with special thanks to Joanne Mahura and Marv Seibel who organized the festivities.

SCAHL All Star Weekend in Red Deer
The SCAHL All Star weekend is on tap this Saturday, January 14 and Sunday January 15, hosted for the third consecutive year by Red Deer Minor Hockey.
This is the 13th annual All Star event for the league. Teams comprised of All Star selections (128 participants in all) from the North Conference face off against their South Conference counterparts in the Pee Wee AA, Bantam AA and Midget AA Divisions. Coaching staffs are selected from the teams that were in first place in their Conference as of the December 11 selection date.
Saturday, the teams gather for a practice session, then join over 450 other guests at the All Star Banquet for dinner, speakers and the All Star Jersey presentation and team pictures.
Sunday at the Red Deer Arena the All Star games are slated, with the Pee Wee AA contest starting at 10:00 am, Bantam AA at 12:15 pm, and Midget AA at 2:45 pm.
The SCAHL has been providing elite level hockey competition since it's formation in 1993, and this year is comprised of 15 Minor Hockey Associations represented by 46 teams with over 874 players.
The SCAHL would like to congratulate all of the players selected for this year's All Star event, and thanks Red Deer Minor Hockey and event coordintors Joanne Mahura and Marv Seibel for their efforts in organizing the weekend.
